£38,000 – £45,000depending on experience and ability, with progression based on performance and department growth
Hours of Work
42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, worked between 7:00am and 5:00pm (exact hours to be agreed). Flexibility is required as occasional Saturday work may be necessary, paid at time and a half.
About Us
Riverside Commercial Services is a busy and growing commercial vehicle business supplying parts and workshop services to a wide range of customers.
We’re looking for a Parts Manager to take full responsibility for the department, lead the team, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of the parts department — from stock control and purchasing through to team management, customer service and business growth.
You’ll be expected to lead from the front, make decisions, and continuously improve how the department operates.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the parts department
* Manage and support the team, including training and development
* Ensure processes are followed and standards maintained
* Support the team by serving customers, answering phones and handling enquiries
* Manage stock control, including fast and slow-moving items
* Handle purchasing, ensuring best price and supplier performance
* Manage returns and warranty claims, ensuring they are completed and followed through
* Support the workshop with priority parts to minimise downtime
* Manage special orders and urgent requirements
* Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
* Actively source new customers and grow the parts business
* Monitors sales, margins and lost sales
* Maintain accurate systems and records

Experience Required
* ESSENTIAL: Previous experience in a commercial vehicle parts environment
* Strong experience in stock control, purchasing and supplier management
* Previous supervisory or management experience is required
* Experience in training or mentoring staff is desirable
