Overview
Two posts available: one within the Inpatient Dispensary and one within the Outpatient Dispensary. We are looking for a keen individual to join our Patient Services Pharmacy team in a busy hospital environment to help provide an efficient service to in-patients and out-patients. Previous experience in pharmacy dispensing systems and a NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services is essential. Experience in a busy hospital pharmacy environment is desirable and you must have excellent attention to detail.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm with 60 minutes lunch; participate in seven day, late duty and Bank Holiday rotas.
Responsibilities
* Labeling and dispensing medication for patients.
* Carry out general housekeeping, filing and receptionist duties.
* Undertake daily stock checks and book prescriptions into the Prescription Tracking Service (PTS).
* Proficient computer use and proven organisational skills; maintain high attention to detail.
* Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively.
Qualifications
* Essential: NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent recognised qualification.
* Knowledge of stock rotation and expiry dates (essential).
* Monitoring of fridges and ambient temperatures and taking appropriate action (essential).

* Experience of hospital pharmacy.
* Experience of hospital pharmacy dispensing systems.
