Special Credits Enforcement Officer I, II, III
Reports To: Senior SC Enforcement Officer
Overview:
This role is responsible for assigned accounts requiring legal and regulatory actions to protect the credit union's interests in collateral and follow progress to conclusions.
Primary Functions:
Responsible for assigned account requiring legal/regulatory actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Control small claims, civil court, bankruptcy actions and other routine legal documents on assigned accounts as directed to protect the credit union's interest in collateral and follow progress to conclusions.
* Review all billings from attorneys, process servers and repossession agents for assigned accounts.
* Fill and monitor all government and private insurance programs as those relate to real estate loans.
* Control and monitor credit union cross collateralization claims for under‑secured and unsecured financial obligations on assigned accounts.
* Review and pay recommendations for unpaid real property taxes and foreclosure actions to protect credit union interests.
* Prepare department reports on adverse actions, substandard, non‑amortizing and paid ahead reports.
* Research credit bureau disputes for assigned accounts.
* Ensure regulatory requirements for deceased members, SCRA, ID theft and government collateral impounds are met.
* Coordinate with the Department of Law on claims and orders of restitution due to credit union losses.
* Coordinate with other departments to secure motor vehicle titles, unsigned promissory notes and dealer buy‑backs related to borrower defense claims.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not applicable.
Experience & Skills: One year experience in the collection field with knowledge of current regulations regarding collections, or one year experience with this credit union in a problem‑solving capacity that routinely requires independent decision making. Direct and varied member contact requiring strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Tenure: Special Credits Enforcement Officer II (Category 11) requires one year as an Special Credits Enforcement Officer I (Category 12) and demonstrated performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Special Credits Enforcement Officer III (Category 10) requires 12 months tenure in the Special Credits Enforcement Officer II (Category 11) position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Assignment to the Senior Special Credits Enforcement Officer (Category 09) will be determined by education, experience or accelerated training completion.
Compensation:
* Special Credits Enforcement Officer I (Category 12): $53,226 – $81,405 annually
* Special Credits Enforcement Officer II (Category 11): $57,484 – $90,230 annually
* Special Credits Enforcement Officer III (Category 10): $63,233 – $99,908 annually
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements where applicable and will fall within the range provided.
In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
