Project Management Officer

Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital
Full time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

08:00 - 16:00 (7.5 hours per day)

Salary - Upto £35,000 per annum depending on experience plus Serco benefits.

As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality Hard FM services across NHS sites, the Project Management Officer (PMO) plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of minor works projects within the Health Business Unit. Based at the NNUH this role is essential to achieving our strategic objectives around operational excellence, compliance, and infrastructure improvement.

Based within the site-based Capital Works Team, the PMO is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a variety of minor works projects. These may include small-scale refurbishments, statutory compliance works, and infrastructure upgrades. The role involves supporting the full project lifecycle-assisting with planning, resource coordination, contractor management, scheduling, and reporting-to ensure that all minor works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with NHS standards and client expectations.

This position contributes directly to maintaining a safe, functional, and patient-centred healthcare environment while supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of Hard FM services.

Main Accountabilities:

Project Coordination and Delivery
Coordinate and support the planning, scheduling, and execution of minor works projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure all minor works comply with relevant health and safety, environmental, sustainability, and engineering regulations, including NHS-specific standards and statutory requirements.

Risk Management
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with minor works projects to ensure the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and contractors, as well as compliance with company policies.

Stakeholder Communication
Maintain clear and professional communication with estates teams, healthcare staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery and minimise disruption.

Resource Coordination
Support the allocation and management of resources-including materials, labour, and contractors-to optimise project efficiency and effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, risk assessments, and compliance records for internal and external audits.

Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the development and improvement of minor works processes and procedures to enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.

Representation and Professionalism
Act as a professional representative of the company, upholding organisational values and maintaining a positive image in all interactions within the healthcare environment.

What you'll need to do the role:

Good working knowledge of CAFM, Microsoft Office Including Excel and Word Evidence of continuing professional development.

Good communication skills to ensure effective interactions with colleagues, supervision, patients, visitors, and Trust staff.

Able to balance conflicting priorities to ensure effective service delivery.

Able to satisfactorily undertake and complete all mandatory and statutory training as well as any other personal development identified to improve knowledge, skills and behaviours.
