About the role:
The post of Senior Desktop Analyst is fundamental to the delivery of:
* an IT desktop experience which meets the need of all of our users
* application deployment
* desktop automation and remote support systems
* enterprise end point security.
The Senior Desktop Analyst will be responsible to the Director of IT Services via the MITS Operations Manager and will undertake the following duties:
* Supporting existing desktop systems
* Supporting the wide range of applications used to support students and staff
* Ensuring that all tasks and developments are documented for colleagues to refer
* Ensuring that workstations have the latest critical and security patches
* Ensuring that workstations and systems meet the requirements of our obligations with regard to safeguarding and online safety and that students and staff are protected from harmful content
* Keeping up-to-date with technical developments and provide additional documentation where necessary
* Assisting Network Managers with the day-to-day maintenance of College IT networks including network security, LAN and wireless infrastructure and voice systems as directed
* Providing skilled on-going support and advice to students and staff using College IT systems
* Promoting the use of the IT systems and Unified Communication tools available to students and staff to ensure the appropriate College systems are used to support their role
* Liaising with academic staff to ensure that we identify and respond to their changing and challenging IT and application requirements, in order that they can provide excellent teaching
You are liable to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of you commensurate with your grade, at both the Bournemouth and Poole campuses or at other locations in the College catchment area.
As our Senior Desktop Analyst, you’ll ideally have:
* Demonstrable passion for IT and IT Systems.
* Good knowledge of IT hardware and experience in PC Maintenance.
* Good communication skills.
* Demonstrable proven track record in customer service skills.
* Be available for evening and weekend work.
* Willingness to work across all campuses.
* At least 2 years’ experience in:
o supporting Windows Operating Systems and software applications.
o IT network administration including the use of Active Directory tools.
o working within IT and network support.
