Commercial Coordinator – Permanent - Aberdeen
JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing a Commercial Coordinator on behalf of an EPC client based in Aberdeen, this is a permanent staff opportunity. This role offers the chance to join a leading organisation in the energy sector, providing commercial support to project teams, managing contract administration, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support and guidance to project teams on the contractual and commercial aspects of projects.
* Understand commercial terms and administration requirements for allocated contracts, assisting in risk management and mitigation.
* Act as the commercial focal point for client contacts and attend client meetings as required.
* Prepare client monthly reports, including value of works, forecast spend, commitments, budgets, business plans, and incentive schemes.
* Monitor ongoing financial performance by preparing monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Ensure internal cost reporting meets corporate accounting and commercial requirements.
* Provide regular commercial analysis and information on expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and contract performance.
* Monitor KPI performance and highlight areas for improvement to optimise financial return.
* Review and approve third-party invoices against subcontract agreements and carry out compliance checks where required.
* Conduct monthly/quarterly labour and third-party reconciliations.
* Identify and support the drafting of contract amendments where necessary.
* Maintain and update contract commercial structures (e.g., sell rates), including annual rate reviews and contract variations.
* Liaise with commercial administrators to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and paid within agreed terms.
* Monitor outstanding debtors, address commercial issues, and optimise cash collection.
* Participate in contract reviews, communicating risks and opportunities.
* Provide commercial support for tenders and new business proposals.
* Ensure all tasks and reporting are carried out in line with company policies, processes, and procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree qualified, preferably in Quantity Surveying, Finance, or Accountancy.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* ERP system knowledge.
* Understanding of contract law and management.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and as part of a team.
* Proactive, self-motivated approach.
* Experience in budgeting, re-forecasting, cost reporting, and monthly accounts.
* Strong knowledge of contractual documentation and interpretation.
* Experience in producing cost/commercial reports and analysing variances/trends.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Oil and Gas sector experience.
