Spire Manchester Hospital, has an exciting opportunity for a Head Chef to join our dynamic and experienced hospitality team working on a permanent, full-time basis.
Spire Manchester Hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialist treatments in purpose-built private hospital facilities in Didsbury. Part of the award-winning Spire healthcare group, we're world-class experts offering fast access to specialised and personalised healthcare using some of the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies.
Working Hours: Five days a week through different shifts from Monday to Sunday between 6 AM and 7:30 PM
Contract type : Permanent, Full-time
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the catering and hostess functions of the hospital, including the kitchen operations, menus, food service, and pantry. You will ensure that the catering services provided meet exemplary standards, aiming to maximize patient satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
* Oversee the overall management of the kitchen, restaurant, and ward hostess team
* Manage the daily operations of the departmental team, addressing any performance-related issues and ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times
* Ensure that high-quality food and beverage services are provided to patients, staff, and visitors, while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
* Implement and uphold proper and safe food safety procedures as outlined in the food safety policy
* Provide adequate on-the-job training and instruction on food hygiene standards to all staff members
* Address the requirements identified in reports following inspections
* Monitor the delivery of hotel services within the hospital, ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of service standards to achieve excellence
Who are we looking for?
* Experience of working in a restaurant style kitchen, wards and with visitors
* City & Guilds 706/1/2 or equivalent Intermediate or advanced food hygiene
* Experience of working in a managerial position in a similar environment
* Experience of working in a fast paced environment
* Experience of working to high quality standards
* Good communication skills
* Ability to establish rapport with all customers
* Have a committed approach to providing great customer service
* Have the ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work evenings and weekends on a rota system
