We are looking for a pro-active laboratory Assistant to join our busy team here in our Reading plant. This is a temporary role, initially 3 months however potentially may be extended. Working Monday to Friday this role will be supporting the Lab teams in Chemistry, Micro Labs and Quality. We are looking for a self motivated individual who is able to follow work processes unaided. If you feel you have the following attributes please apply Happy to work in a temporary role Excellent accuracy skills Good eye for detail Excellent organisational skills Strong time management and planning skills Ideally you will have previous lab experience Be able to comply with a PPE (personal protection equipment) standards Lab Assistant duties - but not limited to, as follows: Simple analytic testing in the chemistry labs, such as Odour, density and texture (training will be provided) Moving equipment/consumables/documents from archive (Micro and Chemistry) Maintaining 5S standards in both labs, including tidying up, cleaning of surfaces in lab, organising files and cupboards Moving finished samples to the retain archive (trolley assisted) Filing samples Maintaining a list of consumables/equipment needed Discarding of liquids (primarily for micro) Waste disposal (Chemistry and Micro) Dishwasher filling/emptying for lab glassware Moving Jars from Fridge Moving items from Fridge to dry cabinet Creating labels for raw materials and finished product samples Cleaning and Maintenance of Lab instruments - following a weekly scheduleWe are looking for a start date of 11th August, and once again please note this is temporary role.
