Portfolio Payroll are pleased to be supporting a rapidly growing start-up Payroll Bureau who are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking and commercial Payroll Manager to join them at a pivotal point in the company's growth.
As Payroll Manager, you will take the lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and play a key role in the creation of the payroll function, with the support of a Payroll Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the onboarding of new clients, designing and implementing payroll processes from the ground up.
Ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery across a growing portfolio of clients.
Build and develop a high-performing payroll team, setting the standard for service excellence and team culture.
Collaborate with leadership to shape the bureau's long-term strategy, tools, and processes.
Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
Serve as a subject matter expert on all things payroll - from legislation to software.
Experience required:
Proven payroll expertise gained within a bureau environment
Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
Excellent leadership skills
Proficient in payroll software
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Eager to innovate and help shape a growing business
