Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bolton
Shift: Rotating 2 week shift pattern (06:00 -14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00)

We are seeking a proactive and multi‑skilled engineer to join our fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping machinery running efficiently, solving technical problems, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and with minimal downtime. You will work across both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting wider engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
* Respond to equipment faults and breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing timely repairs.
* Undertake electrical maintenance depending (motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, etc.).
* Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including completed work and parts used.
* Support continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance performance and reliability.
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and safe working practices.
* Work collaboratively with production teams to reduce disruption and maximise asset uptime.
* Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrading of machinery.
* Manage tools and spare parts effectively.
* Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and well‑organised working environment.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND or equivalent experience in Electrical
* Experience within manufacturing, industrial or similar environments (FMCG, automotive, food, pharma, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens/Allen Bradley etc), automation, or robotics is advantageous.
* 17th/18th Edition is desirable
Skills & Competencies
* Strong electrical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
* Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
