Overview
CT (CAT SCAN) Technologist - 12 hrs Nights at Winchester Hospital. Regular position, Time Type: Part time, Work Shift: Night (United States of America). FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by independently performing Computerized Tomography (CT) examinations meeting ACR imaging standards and maintaining safety standards using CT scanners, power injectors, PACS, and related radiology equipment. This role impacts quality, safety and patient experience.
Qualifications
* Education: Required — Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
* Preferred: Advanced education in CT technology
* Experience: Required — One year diagnostic technology; Preferred — One year of CT
* Other Skills/Knowledge: For safety and quality, must read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and hospital team
* Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Required — ARRT registered in Radiology and CT; Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT
* Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
* Population Specific Requirements: Neonates, Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
* Other Job Requirements: On-call rotation; schedule includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays; travel may be required to CT locations
Job Functions
* Greets, escorts, assesses, educates and provides patient safety checks, verifying exam orders
* Completes CT examinations following established protocols
* Administers intravenous contrast, assesses IV site and operates contrast injector
* Enters examinations with accurate documentation and appropriate charges
* Transfers images/data to PACS and maintains department records
* Maintains a clean, safe work environment and supports a culture of safety
* Addresses supply/equipment issues to ensure operations and maintenance
* Transports and assists patients as needed
* Educates patients and families during the patient experience
* Communicates effectively with the healthcare team and participates in handoffs
* Minimizes harm events, follows infection control protocols and quality guidelines
* Coordinates work schedule with department supervisor and Radiology Manager
