This is a fixed term full-time post for qualified nurses interested in clinical research.
The post involves a competency-based program working with multidisciplinary research teams across various disciplines.
The training combines study sessions with practical placements, funded by the Local Research Network.
Interview date: Monday 10th June. Pre-assessment excel test on MS Teams: Friday 7th June.
Main duties of the job
Perform clinical activities under supervision, progressing to greater autonomy:
* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to identify eligible patients for clinical trials.
* Assist with patient recruitment using trial eligibility criteria.
* Support clinic operations by managing results, x-rays, and scans before appointments.
* Book investigations as directed and assist with questionnaires and queries.
* Assist in administering investigational medicinal products and handling specimens.
* Support patient communication and advocacy throughout trial participation.

Develop research administration skills:
* Understand policies and legislation related to clinical trials.
* Prepare for inspections and audits.
* Register and randomise patients, extract and manage data, and maintain records.
* Coordinate communication among staff and departments.
* Assist in research proposal preparation and participate in meetings.
Person specification
Education and qualifications
* Registered Nurse with NMC registration
* GCP trained, familiar with Research Governance/ICH-GCP
Knowledge
* Understanding of research networks and clinical trials processes
Experience
* Post-registration NHS experience in acute or research settings
* Experience in teaching, supervising, mentoring
Skills and ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
* Initiative, adaptability, teamwork, self-motivation
* Phlebotomy and cannulation skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
