Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist Cataract Specialist to complete a supportive team of specialists covering North Cumbria. NCIC is a clinically led organisation delivering a wide range of community and acute services across north Cumbria and beyond. We are looking for candidates who are interested in developing innovative ophthalmic practice; helping to bridge the gap between acute hospital care, community and primary care. Our post offers an exciting opportunity for an ophthalmologist to help us develop a whole system approach to delivering safe and effective modern eye care.
We will be serving a population of approximately 360,000 with some referrals coming from parts of South West Scotland and West Northumbria.
At NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding hospital and health services to half a million people. Established on 1 October 2019, the Trust is creating a centre of excellence in rural and remote healthcare and provides a wide range of services across 15 main locations with more than 6,500 staff.
Eligibility and qualifications

Responsibilities and opportunities
The successful candidate will join a team of consultant ophthalmologists with specialist interests who provide general ophthalmic services across North Cumbria. The role involves developing and expanding ophthalmic services, contributing to a whole system approach to eye care, and supporting safe, high-quality care for patients treated in both hospital and community settings.
