SEN Teaching Assistant – Redhill – Milk Education
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in children’s lives? Do you have experience supporting pupils with Autism, learning difficulties, or communication challenges?
Milk Education is currently recruiting a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming and inclusive school in the Redhill (RH1) area. This school provides a nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential, with tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support pupils with Autism (ASC), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, or communication needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and engaging learning activities
3. Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports to promote understanding
4. Encourage independence, social skills, and confidence in every learner
5. Provide emotional and behavioural support where required
6. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to help pupils meet their EHCP targets
7. Support personal care or mobility in a safe and respectful manner where necessary
What We’re Looking For
8. Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (essential)
9. Knowledge of Autism, communication difficulties, or learning challenges (desirable)
10. Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
11. Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Willingness to assist with personal care or manual handling if required
13. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
