The salary advertised is for a full-time position (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours or sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £17.04 - £18.45
This is a 52-week non-sessional post, including working during school holidays.
Temporary maternity cover until 24th October 2025.

Monday, 08:00-18:00
Tuesday, 12:30-18:00
Wednesday, 08:00-13:30
Thursday, 08:00-13:30
Friday, 12:30-16:30

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team temporarily to cover maternity leave.
St Mary's RC Primary School is a vibrant, nurturing, and inclusive school community. We are a Roman Catholic School serving both Catholic and non-denominational pupils in Haddington, with 5 mainstream classes and a nursery. The school's total role is currently 115, with a nursery role of 80. The school shares a campus with Haddington Primary School, has its own music room, and shares facilities like the gym hall and dinner hall. We offer opportunities for staff to develop skills in-house.
St Mary's has an active PTA and Parent Council, encouraging parent participation in all aspects of school life.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
You must have an HNC in Early Education and Childcare, or hold SNNB/HNC/SVQ3 qualifications in Childcare/Education or equivalent, with evidence of ongoing learning and knowledge of current practice and legislation related to Early Learning and Childcare.
SSSC registration
Registration with the SSSC is mandatory. If not already registered, you must apply within 3 months of starting, to ensure registration within 6 months.
PVG Membership
This role involves regulated work with vulnerable children and/or adults, as per the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
All preferred candidates must become a PVG Scheme member or update their existing membership before a formal offer of employment.
PVG records are regularly updated. Any relevant disclosures will be discussed and investigated before any formal employment offer.
