About The Role
Working within the maintenance function of Scotland's railway, you will deliver performance and reliability intelligence, with a primary focus on the signalling discipline. You will collaborate closely with delivery unit engineers, analyse failure trends, identify root causes, and provide actionable insights to support decision‑making. You will also play a key role in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and implementing initiatives that enhance reliability and performance of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Identify and implement initiatives to improve asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency.
* Identify problem locations and/or processes within the routes and delivery units, develop and implement action plans to resolve such issues in coordination with the delivery units.
* Support the delivery units in the effective implementation of reliability improvement programme, projects and initiatives.
* Support technical incident learning and after action reviews to identify failure trends and provide insight and analysis into failure modes.
* Prepare business cases for improvement initiatives that are supported by robust analysis.
* Produce and implement plans for improvement initiatives that include training, briefing and support documentation.
* Measure and report on the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
* Identify and share areas of best practice within the delivery units to improve business performance in a consistent manner.
Essential Requirements
* Experience in maintenance management, processes and techniques.
* Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes.
* Detailed knowledge of an engineering discipline.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures.
* Knowledge of operational railway environment.
* IRSE Licence holder (Signalling only).
* Local Accident & Incident Investigation.
* Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.
Desirable Requirements
* Incorporated Engineer.
* Membership of professional body.

£46,701 - £55,411
