Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK, part of a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components.
This role is based at Doddington Road, Lincoln (LN6 3RA), working as part of the Engineering Department to analyse, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes across the Lincoln site. Youll work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams to drive operational excellence, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
As the Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting detailed Time & Motion studies to establish accurate standard times for manufacturing operations
* Analysing and verifying machine cycle times to ensure alignment with planned production targets
* Identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and non-value-added activities within production processes
* Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation
* Ensuring machines are prepared, set, and loaded correctly to achieve consistent, repeatable performance
* Monitoring operator methods to ensure operations are performed safely, correctly, and efficiently
* Supporting production teams with workflow layout improvements and line balancing
* Implementing process improvements to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase productivity
* Working closely with Quality to ensure processes meet required standards and specifications
* Supporting the introduction of new products by defining process flows, cycle times and resource requirements
* Providing training and guidance to operators on correct methods and best practices
* Collaborating with Maintenance to ensure equipment capability supports required cycle times
* Analysing production data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Participating in cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects
* Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and company procedures
As the Process Engineer you will bring:
* Minimum 35 years experience in a Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role within a production environment
* Proven experience conducting Time & Motion studies and cycle time analysis
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
* Experience developing standard work instructions and process documentation
* Ability to analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* A good understanding of machine set-up, preparation, and operational best practices
* Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment
* Good communication skills with the ability to influence and support shop floor teams
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis
Desirable (but not essential):
* Degree / HNC / HND in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering (or similar)
* Formal Lean or Six Sigma qualification
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems
* Experience in high-volume precision manufacturing
* Project management experience
* Knowledge of capacity planning / production planning principles
