Job Title: PCB Process Engineer
Location: Rochester
Salary: £34,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Ensuring the technical data required for the creation of the product (machine programs, BOMs, technical instruction) are in place and at the required configuration and standard
2. Liaising with projects and the PCB team leader to schedule change request implementation in support of production requirements
3. Assigning production manufacturing times to build assemblies
4. Working with a team of PCB Process Engineers to create routings, author assembly instructions and supporting manufacturing processes across prototypes, development and production
5. Complete FAIs (First Article Inspections) where required
6. Initiating and supporting continuous process improvement efforts to benefit time, cost and quality
7. Generating metrics to illustrate performance
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline
* Experience of using and manipulating drawing and material data
* Ability to interpret drawing sets into manufacturing instructions
* Root cause capability to investigate manufacturing issues that arise during assembly
Desirable:
* IPC-600, IPC610 and IPC-2581 Qualified
* Experience of working within a PCBA Manufacturing environment including: SMT, Vapour Phase/Convection Reflow, Wave Solder, Selective Solder, Manual Assembly, Conformal Coating or PCBA Test processes
* Working within an EN9100 / AS9145 compliant environment

The PCBA team:
PCBA Process Engineers provide subject matter expertise for one or more manufacturing processes. You will work alongside Hardware Engineers and other Process Engineers to support the design, development, manufacture and rework of PCBA’s across multiple projects and all phases of the lifecycle. You will work closely with the shop floor and the equipment used in the manufacture of PCBAs to help ensure the product can be repeatedly and consistently manufactured to the correct quality, delivery time and cost.
