About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and resilient Social Worker to join our Duty Hub team in the Wolverhampton area. This is a frontline, high-impact role focused on urgent safeguarding responses and short-term intervention for vulnerable children and families. You will handle incoming referrals, assess risk, and coordinate prompt action in collaboration with multi-agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for incoming referrals related to children in need, at risk, or in crisis.
* Complete initial assessments, gather relevant information, and make immediate decisions on appropriate action.
* Apply safeguarding procedures and legal frameworks to protect children and families.
* Work closely with health professionals, police, education staff, and other key agencies to ensure a coordinated response.
* Accurately record all decisions and actions using case management systems.
* Where appropriate, prepare and pass cases on to longer-term teams or escalate for further action.
* Participate in duty rota and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Essential Requirements:
* Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification such as DipSW, CQSW).
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Recent frontline experience in children's services, particularly in a duty, MASH, or safeguarding context.
* Strong understanding of child protection legislation, thresholds, and procedures.
* Confidence in making autonomous decisions under pressure.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and recording skills.
* Enhanced DBS check (must be current or obtained prior to start).
Desirable Experience:
* Experience using case management systems such as Liquidlogic.
* Familiarity with Signs of Safety or other strengths-based models.
* Previous work in the West Midlands or similar local authority setting.
