Assistant AccountantNigel Wright are currently supporting a Northumberland based business with their Assistant Accountant requirement. This is a 9 month fixed term agreement. The RoleAs Assistant Accountant, your role includes:
* VAT returns, bank reconciliations, journals and month-end support.
* Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet
* Manage intercompany invoicing and journals
* Support invoice financing processes and supplier payment runs.
* Provide efficient audit support
The CandidateIdeally you will have:
* Strong accounting knowledge
* Confident handling VAT, journals, reconciliations and month-end activities
* Experience with intercompany accounting and basic P&L/balance sheet understanding.
* Proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Reliable, organised and able to manage competing tasks efficiently.
* Positive attitude, willing to take ownership
* Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment (shared service transition).
* Ideally AAT qualified / studying ACCA (not essential), but solid practical experience is key.
