We are working with a welcoming primary school near Newtown to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their SEND provision. This role focuses on supporting children with ADHD, Autism, non-verbal communication needs, and associated behavioural challenges. The school is easily accessible from the city centre and offers a supportive, structured environment where staff are truly valued. For the right person, the school are looking to turn this position into a permanent role.
What Youll Be Doing:
Provide tailored support to SEND pupils
Support pupils with ADHD, Autism and non-verbal needs
Implement behaviour management strategies calmly and consistently
Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver structured interventions
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
What Were Looking For:
Experience supporting SEND pupils in a primary or SEN setting
Strong behaviour management skills
Calm, patient and resilient approach
Confidence supporting non-verbal communication (PECS, visuals, Makaton beneficial)
