It was noted by ESTYN inspectors, 2023 that;
'Ysgol Gymraeg Santes Tudful, which includes nursery provision on the Gurnos site, is a successful learning community that celebrates the progress and achievement of all pupils particularly effectively. She has an inclusive and caring tone. The headteacher and the deputy, with the intelligent support of the governing body, offer clear and convincing leadership and respect the efforts of all those who contribute to the complete education of the pupils. The school's ethos is firmly based on an agreed vision, which is to inspire, learn and celebrate. As a result, most pupils display very strong attitudes towards their learning, care for others and are proud of their Welshness, their school and the local area'
The Governing Body of Ysgol Santes Tydful is keen to appoint a teacher who is enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic to join the staff of this school in September 2026. Good interpersonal and communication skills are expected in order to be able to work together with the school's children, teachers and parents. We are looking for a person who can support the inclusive vision and family ethos of our school, whilst supporting our 'Experiences are everything' mindset. Our staff are the nucleus for everything, the most valuable quality and the most important element to the success of our school - we are an enthusiastic team that goes above and beyond to ensure an exceptional education for our pupils.
As the winners of this year's 'Community Schools' gold award, we are referred to as a community school which is proud to serve the community in Merthyr Tydfil and be ambassadors of the Welsh language and as a result there is special collaboration between the school, our families and all stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an excellent and energetic practitioner on the classroom floor, have a great understanding of pedagogy across the Primary sector and be excited about nurturing successful and confident citizens of the future. We strongly believe that real life experiences are a key part of a child's educational journey. We are looking for someone who will be prepared to contribute to our extracurricular provision and offer invaluable, varied and exciting experiences to the pupils of Ysgol Santes Tudful. ● be an excellent classroom practitioner who inspires every child to reach their full potential through high quality learning experiences and excels in developing an all-inclusive class with a solid foundation of inventive strategies to support our school's ALN pupils.
● have thorough knowledge of Curriculum for Wales and current pedagogical strategies.
● respond to observations and continuous assessment findings in order to ensure a child's continued progress;
● have high expectations of themselves and of pupils in their care;
● be willing to take risks and to experiment with new pedagogical styles;
● create a stimulating and caring learning environment;
● maintain the Welsh ethos and high standards of the school;
● show the ability to work together as an enthusiastic team member;
● be an excellent communicator with high quality interpersonal skills.
