MEICA Project Engineer - Water Industry
Location: East Midlands (office + site-based with travel)
We’re working with a growing contractor in the UK water sector, looking to bring in a MEICA Project Engineer to support delivery across a range of clean and wastewater projects.
This role will suit someone with a couple of years’ experience in the water industry, looking to develop further within a fast-paced project environment, supporting both design and delivery phases.
The Role:
* Support delivery of mechanical, electrical and civil works across water and wastewater projects
* Assist with planning, design coordination, and execution of project activities
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and client standards
* Ensure works are delivered in line with WIMES, BS 7671, and project requirements
* Coordinate with site teams and supervisors to ensure quality and safety on site
* Prepare and manage project documentation including RAMS, technical submittals, and reports
* Attend site for inspections, surveys, and technical support
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries
* Support commissioning, testing, and project handover
* Promote a strong health & safety culture across all activities
Requirements:
* 2+ years’ experience within the water or utilities sector
* Good understanding of MEICA systems including pumps, pipework, MCCs, and instrumentation
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Experience supporting delivery across multi-disciplinary projects
* Strong organisational and communication skills
Qualifications:
* Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering (or similar)
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Experience working across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civils)
* EUSR Water Hygiene / Confined Space
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery processes
* Familiarity with planning tools (MS Project, Primavera)
* Exposure to commissioning and testing activities
