Cornerstone Children's Homes are looking for a Residential Care Worker for our home in Stockport. We are an established therapeutic children's service with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality care to males aged between 10 and 17 years old with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Position:
Permanent - full time
Hours: 40 hours per week.
Nights: Monday - Sunday. To work the rota as required
Job role:
* To work therapeutically with vulnerable, challenging young people by supporting them practically and emotionally and to help them work towards agreed plans for their future
* To be a positive role model, to include high standards of personal presentation for young people.
* To encourage young people to develop meaningful relationships and attachments in line with their individual care plan.
* To complete detailed computer records, write reports and assist with the general upkeep of the home.
Residential Care Worker (Nights):
Ideally the successful applicant will have a background in looking after vulnerable young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in a therapeutic environment; however, opportunities exist for candidates with a desire to develop their own skills and understanding of working with young people and 'get into' this line of work.
* To hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma Residential Childcare / NVQ Children and Young Peoples Workforce.
* Ability to work with young people from all backgrounds.
* Ability to cope with and respond to challenging behaviour in a constructive way.
* Good communication skills.
* Able to work within a team.
* Must be at least 23 years old
