Job Title: Purchasing Planner Team Leader

Purpose of Role:
The Purchasing Planner Team Leader fulfils a critical role within the WME Procurement team through responsibility for the end-to-end materials procurement process from when demand is created until orders are delivered.In addition to fulfilling the activities of a Vendor Scheduler / Buyer/Planner, the Purchasing Planner Team Leader will manage a team of Vendor Schedulers and Buyer/Planners.As well as day to day management and acting as first point of escalation, this will include recommending improvement activities, vendor / site allocations, training etc to the Procurement Manager and assisting in implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage Vendor Scheduler / Buyer/Planner team on a day to day basis as well as through regular reviews
2. Help team solve and overcome problems
3. Deliver against team targets
4. Recommend work allocation, improvement activities, training, ‘where appropriate’ responsibilities (listed above) etc to Procurement Manager and assist in their implementation
5. Coordinate training for the team
6. Develop and manage work instructions for the team
7. Manage team performance
8. Lead and assist in improvement activities
9. Convert and raise Purchase Orders / Stock Transfer Orders for assigned vendors and/or sites
10. Ensure delivery of goods and documentation on time in full
11. Use MD06 or other exception message tool daily to identify exception messages and communicate issues to all affected departments
12. Work with suppliers to action all exception messages (Pull forwards, Push outs, Cancellations etc.) and requests from the business to change delivery
13. Update SAP with delivery confirmations and/or date changes and other relevant information within agreed service level agreements
14. Manage orderbook and communicate with internal and external suppliers
15. Communicate changes with the wider business
16. Determine required mode of transport for goods and seek relevant approvals to ensure goods arrive to suit customer needs
17. Ensure parts and materials are on time to meet customer demand and production planning schedule
18. Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and seek to minimise their occurrence
19. Depending on skill level, liaise with other teams and departments where MRP demand may be inappropriate
20. Document processes
21. Additional procurement duties maybe assigned where it is appropriate for specific assigned vendors or sites or for development and other purposes.
22. Demonstrate 100% commitment to Zero Harm
23. Any other responsibilities commensurate with the role.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
24. Excellent SAP skills
25. Demonstrates supervisory experience
26. Experience in the Planning and Procurement (PP) module
27. Good knowledge of Microsoft packages particularly Excel, PowerPoint and preferably Power BI
28. Experience working in an OEM
29. Fluent English
30. One or more European languages would be advantageous
