About the Role
We are seeking a capable and confident Family Solicitor to join our dynamic and busy Family Law team, based in Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely alongside the Head of Department, in one of the most active teams within the firm.
The role will involve a broad mix of family law work, covering both public and private matters. While the team is currently handling a range of public and private work, we are aiming to shift toward more private family law work. We are open to considering candidates with experience in either or both areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy, and children’s issues.
* Represent clients in both private and public law children proceedings.
* Work collaboratively with the Head of Department on complex and high-value cases.
* Deliver high-quality, client-focused legal advice and representation.
* Attend court hearings and meetings as required.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant family law legislation and case law.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor with ideally 3–6 years PQE, although candidates outside this range who can demonstrate the necessary skill and independence will be considered.
* Experience in either public or private family law, or both.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage a full caseload.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
* Resolution membership and/or Children Panel accreditation would be advantageous.
