Position Summary:
This position will lead the Team and Arena Security group while strategizing how safety and security is managed in all NBA arenas. The Head of Team and Arena Security will be responsible for assisting with all efforts related to the safety of players, game officials, team personnel, and fans of the NBA, WNBA, and Gatorade League.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic security leadership to the NBA Security Department's Team and Arena section which includes management and budget responsibility for multiple leagues.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of security professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with cross:functional teams and senior leaders regarding safety and security issues that may impact the NBA, WNBA, Gatorade League, and NBA 2K.
- Implement a robust security strategy that aligns with the NBA's objectives and mitigates potential risks in a proactive manner.
- Develop plans for the implementation of new or revised security practices, processes, or requirements.
- Manage the NBA Security's Quality Assurance Program, including vendor management, information design, and communication with team executives.
- Implement security training practices to raise awareness, preparedness, and adherence to recommended security strategies.
- Manage incident response efforts in partnership with relevant stakeholders, ensuring swift and effective resolution of security related incidents.
- Direct league resources to conduct complete and thorough on:court investigations, with conclusions supported by facts.
- Domestic and international business travel is expected.
Required Education/Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in an area of study relevant to the position.
- Formal education/training in security related matters is a plus (i.e., ASIS, CPP)
- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant security leadership experience ideally within law enforcement, public service, or private sector security organizations.
- Prior experience in law enforcement and/or military. Ability to have US security clearance.

Salary Range:245,000:275,000
