Job Description:
Job Role: Candidate’s ability to work cross-functionally involves all aspects of Process Safety, including providing technical advice and solutions, performing HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, safety workshops, risk assessments, hazard identification, scenario development, consequence modelling, and report preparation. A thorough understanding of safety study methodologies, software modelling, and report review across project phases is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
* Participate in project risk assessments and safety workshops such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, PHSER.
* Lead the team for successful completion of HSEIA processes.
* Act as Lead Engineer, review contract requirements, and oversee project documentation.
* Review and interpret P&ID, HMB, plant layouts, and operational procedures.
* Participate in multidisciplinary design projects and workshops.
* Calculate fire-water demand and prepare safety equipment layouts and specifications.
* Review safety cases, HSEIA, and design HSE cases.
* Prepare reports on FERA, QRA, EERA, ESSA, and performance standards.
* Conduct escape, evacuation, rescue, and recovery assessments.
* Facilitate and chair safety workshops like HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL, ALARP, PHSER.
* Deliver and develop training materials for safety workshops.
* Knowledge of SIMOPS, MOPO, constructability review (desirable).
* Verify and validate SIL processes.
* Lead project roles, manage client interfaces, and support junior team members.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant field.
* Minimum 15+ years of experience in technical safety and risk within EPC for oil & gas industry.
* Knowledge of ADNOC, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, QE standards (desirable).
* Experience in hydrocarbon industry sectors such as oil & gas, refineries, petrochemicals, heavy chemicals, or fertilizers.
* Understanding of refinery processes, plant equipment, and process control.
* Ability to read and interpret P&ID and PFD (mandatory).
* Knowledge of CFD, RAM, and dropped object studies (advantageous).
* Extensive technical, practical, and leadership experience in process safety, managing multidisciplinary teams and projects.
