Role Overview
The PMO supports a Technology portfolio within a large, regulated banking organisation. The role provides delivery governance, planning, reporting, and financial oversight, working closely with Portfolio Leads, Project/Programme Managers, Central PMO, and Project Governance to ensure initiatives are delivered within capacity and in line with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support Portfolio, Programme, and Project Managers with planning, delivery control, governance, and reporting.
2. Own portfolio-level reporting, including monthly packs, dashboards, RAID, MI, and PPM tool updates.
3. Ensure compliance with the project delivery lifecycle, controls, and PMO calendar; escalate risks and issues as required.
4. Review project deliverables for quality, completeness, and policy alignment; coordinate assurance and stage-gate reviews.
5. Manage financial and resource tracking, including forecasts, actuals, invoices, and contingency management.
6. Maintain project documentation, version control, and governance artefacts.
7. Act as a key interface with Central PMO, Project Governance, Finance, and Project Accounting teams.
8. Drive continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, and reporting standards.
9. Provide ad hoc PMO support and manage small projects where required.
Required Experience & Skills
10. 5+ years’ Experience in PMO, portfolio reporting, and financial oversight.
11. Strong knowledge of waterfall delivery, governance frameworks, RAID, and change control.
12. Hands-on Experience with PPM tools ( Planview), advanced Excel, and financial systems.
13. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence adherence to standards.
14. Excellent reporting, MI, and documentation capabilities.
15. Advanced MS Office skills; working knowledge of SharePoint.
