Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work within a long-established, specialist mental health hospital providing care to both men and women across various levels of secure services. This is a dynamic, multi-ward setting including medium secure, acute, and DBT-focused wards.
Salary: Around £160,000 FTE + £5000 car allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Part Time
Location: Milton Keynes
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee patient treatment plans and lead MDT collaboration
* Manage a varied caseload across multiple secure wards
* Assess referrals and determine admission suitability
* Chair and contribute to CPA and ward reviews
* Guide risk assessment and clinical decision-making
* Lead junior doctor supervision and appraisal
* Participate in clinical governance and senior on-call rota
Requirements
* Full GMC registration with Specialist Registration
* MRCPsych or international equivalent
* Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status
* Experience in secure or forensic psychiatry settings
* Strong leadership within multi-disciplinary teams
