Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our residential care home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care needs. This role requires strong communication skills and a genuine passion for senior care.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents.
* Assess individual resident needs and preferences to create personalised activity plans.
* Coordinate group activities, ensuring participation from all residents while fostering a sense of community.
* Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents' health and safety requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
* Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enrich the lives of residents.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and gather input for future planning.
Experience
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is essential.
* Familiarity with dementia care practices and techniques is highly desirable.
* Background in caregiving or related fields will be considered an asset.
* Strong communication skills are crucial for interacting with residents, families, and team members effectively.
