About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them regulate emotions, engage with learning, and develop positive relationships. This role is ideal for someone patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners. Responsibilities: • Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning and manage behaviour positively. • Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessons, adapting activities to meet individual needs. • Build trusting relationships with students to encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour. • Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised support plans consistently and effectively. • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teaching and pastoral staff. • Support students during transitions, break times, and structured activities to promote engagement and safety. Qualifications: • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable. • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging behaviour. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider support team. • A genuine commitment to supporting students’ emotional and academic development.
