We are looking for a friendly staff member or lecturer at the University of Manchester to occasionally guide visiting student groups and give a short talk about the university.
Background:
In February, we will welcome groups of students from China to visit the University of Manchester. The purpose is to let them experience the campus, learn about admissions, and get a feel for student life. Similar occasional sessions will also be arranged regularly throughout the year
Responsibilities (1.5–2 hours per session):
Give a warm welcome and short self-introduction
Provide a simple overview of the university (location, strengths, student life)
Share key points on admissions and applications
Introduce student support, resources, and popular subjects
Host a short Q&A session with students
Requirements:
Current staff, lecturer, or researcher at the University of Manchester
Clear and engaging communication skills
Flexible, casual role – occasional sessions only
