Wood is currently recruiting for a Regional Project Manager to join our Project Management Organisation (PMO) within the Consulting division on a full-time staff basis.
We are open to applications from across the UK to be based at any of our main offices on a hybrid working basis, with fully remote working to be considered.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring regional project delivery aligns with Wood’s project management and operational assurance standards. You will offer project management leadership, strategic direction, governance, and support compliance across the consultancy business. Additionally, you will coach, mentor, and support the project management discipline.
This hands-on role requires direct engagement with the project management community, deploying a strategic spanning and layering approach to project delivery within the region. Customer engagement and satisfaction are key, and you will lead by example to ensure safety performance excellence across all consultancy projects.
Consultancy project values range from a few £k to £Ms. The project management discipline across the region needs to be flexible in approach to deliver a growing business in both complexity and value.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
* Provide guidance and oversight for regional project delivery, driving standards through monthly reviews
* Serve as SME across all regional project management disciplines; foster a culture of belonging and value addition
* Champion project management function with leadership, governance, and process compliance
* Ensure effective use of PM tools and best practices
* Focus on continuous improvement of processes, tools, and templates
* Challenge complacency and benchmark against best practices
* Ensure accountability at project start-up and capture lessons learned at close-out
* Oversee proposal reviews for project management discipline
* Engage with customers to ensure satisfaction

* Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline from a reputable institution
* Proven project delivery experience within a consultancy environment
* Experience managing complex projects with a structured approach
* Knowledge of project monitoring techniques like earned value
* Ability to understand and communicate project impact on business performance
* Resilient and assertive personality
* Results-oriented with strong communication skills
* Proficiency in relevant software tools
Desirable
* Experience in programme delivery and control in multi-project environments
