Specialist Dietitian (Adult Eating Disorders)

This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist dietitian with experience and passion to work with eating disorders, to join the large and expanding of Northants Eating Disorder Service (NEDS). NEDS is a passionate and energetic countywide psychology-led service. The team (over 26. w.t.e.) currently comprises of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists (RMN), Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Specialist Dieticians, Occupational Therapist, Support Workers (including Peer Support Workers), Arts Therapists, Assistant Psychologists).

NEDS is a very well-established service, which has evolved over the past 30 years and is a pioneer of community-based approaches to treatment and support. We offer evidence-based treatment for the whole spectrum of eating disorders: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and OSFED. A comprehensive range of services is provided, from outpatient individual and group treatment packages for relatively mild-moderate cases of Bulimia Nervosa and Binge-eating disorder, through to intervention and case management of people with severe Anorexia Nervosa. Clinicians in NEDS work with individuals locally in the community and also co-ordinate referrals to Out of Area inpatient admissions to Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDU's), when needed.


Main duties of the job

5. To actively participate in your own clinical supervision and appraisals as an integral part of professional development and to supervise junior staff

6. To undertake teaching and consultation activities with other health and care staff

7. To promote Clinical Governance, Reduction of Risk, Audit and Research and evidence-based practice

8. To demonstrate the Trust's values in everything you do in the work environment

9. To be responsible in the use and expenditure of the Trust's resources that you utilise

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Person Specification


Knowledge and qualifications

* BSc (Hones) in Nutrition and Dietetics or PG Diploma
* Experience of working with Eating Disorders
* Experience of complex MDT work
* Training in other relevant therapeutic models e.g. CBT/psychoeducation
* Member of BDW mental health group/special interest group
* Knowledge of MEED guidance


Experience

* Experience of challenging MDT work
* Experience of supervision and training/education of others
* Experience of supervision and training/education of others
* Familiar with NICE guidelines for ED tratment3
* High level communication skills
* Substantial post qualification of clinical dietetics (acute and/or community settings)
