Lead Technical Architect
Graphics Unlimited (Vic) Pty Ltd invites applications for the Lead Technical Architect role. You will join DWP Digital in designing modern IT architecture for one of the largest digital transformations in Europe. The position offers up to £99,836 salary, 28.97% employer pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours, and a strong work‑life balance.
What You’ll Do
* Define and implement the strategy that unifies solutions across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
* Lead design, oversight, and governance of IT solutions that support DWP’s customers, using best practices.
* Communicate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Manage a small team of Senior Architects and influence other architects across delivery teams.
* Address high‑risk and complex issues while exploring emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the architecture of networking, security, presentation, middleware, databases, and integration layers.
* Apply architecture principles, patterns, standards, and technical radars to drive design decisions.
* Collaborate with delivery teams (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) from concept through go‑live.
* Translate business requirements into traceable technical solutions for stakeholders.
* Use modelling techniques and tools to create and communicate architecture designs.
Required Experience and Skills
* Proven experience designing architectures for on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
* Strong knowledge of MS 365 solutions (SharePoint, Teams, Copilot) and Exchange.
* Experience with API management—REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, GraphQL, API gateways, HTTP transport, security such as mTLS and OIDC.
* Data architecture design, including data modelling, MDM, metadata management, and governance.
* Information and data security, governance, compliance, data privacy, and disaster recovery.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence across teams.
