Overview

St. Enoch Shopping Centre is Glasgow’s landmark destination for retail and leisure. We are seeking a strategic and experienced Soft Services Manager to lead the Safety, Security & Service Experience of Glasgow’s landmark destination.


About the Role

This senior management role places you at the centre of security, cleaning, and customer safety operations. As Head of Soft Services, you’ll be the senior point of contact for all security and incident response matters, while also guiding and developing our cleaning operations. You’ll lead a team of nearly 90 people (c.45 security, c.45 cleaning), ensuring St. Enoch is safe, secure, spotless, and always delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Working closely with the Centre Director, you’ll liaise with city stakeholders, emergency services, contractors, and retailers to ensure the highest standards of service, compliance, and professionalism across the board.


Responsibilities

* Lead security, cleaning, and guest safety operations for the centre.
* Serve as the senior point of contact for security and incident response matters.
* Direct and develop cleaning operations and manage a large multi-disciplinary team.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant legislation (e.g., Martyn’s Law, SIA regulations, COSHH).
* Collaborate with police, local authorities, emergency services, and city-centre stakeholders.
* Deliver day-to-day operational leadership and drive long-term strategic improvements.
* Develop teams, manage managers, and ensure KPIs and standards are met.


Qualifications

* Has an SIA Licence with proven leadership in large-scale security operations.
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams at scale, across security and cleaning.
* Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and legislation (e.g., Martyn’s Law, SIA regulations, COSHH).
* Confident liaison with police, local authorities, and city-centre stakeholders.
* Ability to deliver on both day-to-day operational leadership and long-term strategic improvements.
* Excellent people management skills, motivating teams, developing managers, and ensuring KPIs and standards are met.
