Respiratory Physiologist
Location: NIAS
Hours: Full-Time, hours per week
Pay Rate: £ per hour
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with or performing
1. Limited sleep studies and oximetry
2. CPAP titration, set up and follow up.
· Spirometry
· Reversibility testing
· Lung volume measurement
· Gas transfer
· To be responsible for the calibration, quality assurance, maintenance, minor fault-finding and infection control of any equipment in use in the department
3. To report significant findings to the referring physician
4. Provide advice based on acquired knowledge and skills and will use this to improve on patient/client care and to develop others.
· Work with a significant degree of autonomy
5. Key working relationships
6. To ensure that the department interfaces with the public, patients and other departments in a professional and productive manner
7. To participate in all aspects of Clinical Physiology services across the trust depending on service needs.
8. Quality
9. Ensure a safe environment for patient care adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
10. To perform investigations to the relevant professional and quality standards
11. To continue professional development by attendance at appropriate training courses.
12. To maintain voluntary professional registration with the Registration Council of Clinical Physiologists or equivalent and to promote the profile of the profession and good clinical practice
13. To treat all staff and patients with dignity and respect at all times
14. To actively participate in maintaining own continuing professional development and professional registration, identifying own development needs in conjunction with the professional lead Physiologist
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology/BSc Hons Health Care Science (Respiratory and Sleep Physiology) or equivalent.
