New Role In - Buyer Location: Aberdeen Hours: 37.5 per week (overtime may be required) - Hybrid working is available We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our well-established client's team in Aberdeen. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, competitively, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: Use the approved purchasing system in full compliance with company policies and procedures. Source suppliers, issue RFQs, and analyse quotations to secure the best value. Liaise effectively with engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and accounts payable to resolve issues and ensure timely payments. Arrange supplier returns when required. Assist with inventory cycle counts and year-end processes. Provide support and cover for colleagues when necessary. Carry out other duties as reasonably required. Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely expediting and clear communication with requestors on delivery progress. Enter receipts against purchase orders and maintain accurate records for clear audit trails. Key Experience & Knowledge Strong procurement background, with prior experience in a similar role (Marine, Oil & Gas, or Engineering sector preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP procurement modules. Highly organised, methodical, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with professionalism. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
