As a member of the production team your role will be to deliver daily production targets by following safe systems of work and standard operating procedures. You will lead and motivate a team while ensuring team members have the right skills to carry out their role. You will be responsible for health and safety; product quality and food safety and you will report directly to the Production Manager, keeping them up to date on daily performance.
Production Oversight
* Monitor daily operations on the production line to ensure targets are met.
* Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to team members.
* Ensure production schedules are followed and adjusted as needed.
Quality Control
* Ensure products meet quality and safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS).
* Address and report non-conformities or deviations from standards.
Health & Safety Compliance
* Enforce health and safety regulations (e.g., PPE usage, hygiene protocols).
* Promote a safety-first culture among team members.
Team Management
* Supervise, train, and support production staff.
* Handle performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
* Foster team morale and encourage continuous improvement.
Communication & Reporting
* Liaise with Production Manager, quality assurance, and maintenance teams.
* Maintain accurate records and reports (e.g., production output, downtime, incidents).
* Communicate goals, updates, and changes to the team effectively.
Resource Management
* Ensure availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment.
* Minimize waste and downtime through efficient planning.
* Report and escalated equipment issues to maintenance teams.
Continuous Improvement
* Encourage staff to contribute ideas for efficiency and quality gains.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, assertiveness, the ability to work well within a team and follow processes, a positive, inclusive attitude and great attention to detail.
Hourly rate of £13.84 plus Shift Allowance £1.10 per hour.
