Our staff are skilled, high performing and committed to our learners and we now wish to appoint an individual who shares this commitment into the role of Curriculum Manager- Health Care,Science, Childcare, Digital and Media. In this role you will manage a team of Course Leaders and Lecturers to ensure that annual key performance indicators are achieved consistently across the entire curriculum offered in your area.
You will also undertake quality assurance and improvement activities relating to teaching, learning and assessment to support our strategic priority of ensuring the highest quality experience for all college stakeholders. Vitally, you will have significant experience in curriculum design and development in collaboration with employers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the offer within your remit fully meets local and national needs.
You will be an outstanding teacher and be able to demonstrate experience of challenging staff to improve performance and implementing actions plans to support improvement. Experience of producing effective verbal and written reports which analyse curriculum performance and the ability to effectively lead and manage a number of curriculum areas to meet the College’s strategic and operational expectations are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a team of course leaders and lecturers
- Ensuring key performance indicators are consistently achieved
- Undertaking quality assurance activities related to teaching, learning, and assessment
- Teaching 6 hours per week
- Gaining an accurate view of the quality of teaching and learning to implement successful intervention strategies
- Managing curriculum areas to meet the college's expectations
- Ensuring learner recruitment, achievement, progress, attendance, and punctuality are met
- Self-assessing the quality of provision and implementing action plans for improvement
- Overseeing well-planned teaching and systematic learner understanding
- Providing accurate reports about curriculum performance
- Overseeing the production of timetables
- Ensuring internal and external verification activities are undertaken
- Keeping up-to-date with industry requirements and leading activities to assess the quality of teaching and learning
Essential Criteria
* A minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant curriculum area.
* A Cert Ed or equivalent.
* Experience of managing/coordinating complex projects from inception to successful completion
* Thorough understanding of quality assurance processes relating to teaching learning & assessment.
* Understanding of value added and the use of assessment outcomes to accurately determine learner starting points and support substantial and sustained progress.
* An understanding of the opportunities and challenges applicable to the curriculum areas within scope of responsibility.
* Evidence of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
* Experience of challenging staff to improve performance and implementing action plans to support improvement.
* Experience in producing effective written and verbal reports that analyse curriculum performance.
* Track record of successfully managing internal and external verification activity.
* Evidence of a solution-focused approach to effectively managing student conduct and behaviour issues.
