What You'll Do
* Manage multiple embedded SRE teams to build close relationships with the departments within Global Platform Engineering, acting as an enabler to help them and the organisation achieve shared goals.
* Champion key SRE initiatives, helping the development teams consume the platform offering; enabling and empowering reliability and efficiency initiatives, and innovate collaboratively with platform and development teams.
* Strive to build a positive partnership between Platform Engineering, SRE, and development teams, identify and remove all points of friction, unnecessary dependencies, and blockers.
* Partner with development teams to ensure that platform action requests, efficiency, reliability, and observability initiatives are properly prioritised and resourced.
* Championing standardisation and adoption of as-a-service platform offerings, replacing bespoke or legacy solutions where possible.
* Work with other departments to identify improvements and solve problems which cross organisational boundaries, measure your success by the success of the development teams.
* Be an inclusive and thoughtful leader, managing the performance and wellbeing of the department.
What you'll bring:
* A strong technical background with a proven experience delivering in high pressure and demanding environments in a position of responsibility.
* A customer centric attitude, focusing on enabling and empowering both internal and external customers and partners.
* Very strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation, and fluent in English.
* Demonstrated flexibility, creative thinking, and attention to detail with a can-do, hands-on attitude.
* Significant experience Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar field, with a large amount of experience in a management / leadership role - ideally with a Degree in Computer Science or related field.
* Extensive experience wit h leadership and people management across large teams and portfolios spread across multiple countries.
* Demonstrated flexibility, creative thinking, and attention to detail. Can-do, hands-on attitude.
* Be an inclusive and thoughtful leader, managing the performance and wellbeing of the department.
* Currently managing or owning a Developer Platform, ideally leveraging Kubernetes as a central technology.
* Proven experience in a leadership role running large scale, low latency critical systems.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
