To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Joiner/Pattern Maker to come and join our team at our Thornley site in County Durham, DH6 2QA Key responsibilities: • Manufacture and Maintenance of timber moulds - Make moulds in line with customer requirements, from various materials, using the CAD Drawing. • Refurb and setting of existing moulds - Refurbish current moulds using various techniques so they are ready for re-use and setting up to optimise production efficiency. • Material Management - Ordering and management of all materials required for the Mould Making Department, e.g. wood, glues, screws and fixings. Including incoming quality checks. • Support Production Process - Work closely with production operatives to support the production team throughout casting and demoulding process. • General Site Maintenance - Supporting the Site and Facilities team with general carpentry/joinery maintenance tasks e.g. sticking doors, replacing locks, making erecting noticeboards. • Creating items from wood and other materials, for example mould boxes • Refurbushing items, for example mould boxes • General woodworking maintenance tasks around the factory • Ability to take ownership of the role • Ability to plan and prioritise your own workload reading from a production schedule • Adhering to health & safety, quality and environmental systems Essential qualifications & experience: • Practical, hands-on ability • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels • Effective engagement and communication • Innovative thinking and solutions focussed • Ability to read and understand CAD / GA drawings to reverse engineer moulds. • Highly organised, able to work under pressure to deliver multiple priorities. • Proactive, resourceful and self-motivated, with a high level of detail focus. • Basic IT computer literacy in the use of outlook and internet explorer. • Passionate about woodwork and joinery. • Ability to operate woodworking machines, Kappa saw/spindle moulder/panel saw/planner etc. • Wood working safety training • General H&S awareness Desirable: • IOSH Qualified • NVQ or equivalent in Woodworking Operations • Knowledge of wood working tools listed above.
