Overview
The Digital Engineering function within the AtkinsRéalis Global Technology Centre (GTC) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Enabling Infrastructure - the systems that support mobility, utilities, and connectivity across the built environment. These include highways, railways, water networks, and digital infrastructure that enable societies to function efficiently and sustainably. As part of the Digital Engineering team, you will contribute to the digital transformation of infrastructure delivery by integrating advanced modelling, automation, data analytics, and information management practices across the asset lifecycle. You will work at the intersections of engineering, BIM, project management as a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist, to deliver high‑impact data driven solutions that align with global standards and client expectations.
Your role
* BIM & Information Management: Support the implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Information Delivery Plans (IDPs), and Common Data Environment (CDE) configurations in alignment with ISO 19650 standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and manage project‑specific information requirements and delivery protocols. Perform model federation, clash detection, and coordination reviews using industry‑standard tools. Support digital handover and Asset information management. Ensure information quality and compliance through structured audits and validation workflows.
* Computational Design and Advanced Modelling: Develop and deploy computational design scripts using Dynamo, Generative components and low‑code automation solutions using Power automate, power apps to streamline project delivery. Contribute to 4D construction sequencing, 5D cost modelling, and 6D carbon footprinting workflows. Assist in the development of asset data schemas and digital twin modelling strategies. Collaborate with engineering, BIM, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of digital processes.
* Engineering Data Analytics and Visualization: Asset data schema development and asset data attribution. Perform engineering data analysis through the creation of dashboards for Issue tracking, Clash resolution, construction sequencing, Model quantity take off and Project Information management.
* Experience & Knowledge Essential: 5‑8 years of experience in the AEC industry, with demonstrable exposure to digital engineering, Advanced BIM, Information Management, or computational design. Strong understanding of ISO 19650 standards and their application in infrastructure projects. Experience in model‑based delivery, including data rich 3D modelling, virtual design and construction. Familiarity with project delivery workflows in Highways, Rail, or Utilities Infrastructure domains.
o Desirable: Experience in developing or supporting automation tools for design or data workflows. Understanding of asset lifecycle information requirements and digital handover strategies. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum‑based delivery environments.
