I help to keep people safe and warm by…
1. Leading and managing a team of Project Managers and operational staff, fostering a high-performance culture through effective development and motivation strategies. You will be responsible for upholding stringent health, safety, and environmental standards in all engineering activities, conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
2. Ensuring successful completion of construction projects, within programmed timescales and budget requirements.
3. Stakeholder engagement is a key aspect of the role, involving collaboration with internal departments and liaison with external partners, including contractors, landowners, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate smooth operations and maintain compliance through effective communication.
4. The role encompasses a strong focus on continuous improvement, requiring you to identify and implement enhancements in systems, processes, and engineering practices to boost safety, efficiency, and reliability across operations.
5. You will serve as a technical expert, providing valuable guidance on complex engineering challenges. In this capacity, you'll be expected to develop and recommend technically sound solutions that align with company standards, supporting the team in overcoming intricate technical hurdles and maintaining the integrity of engineering practices throughout the organisation.
What you'll need
Essential Experience and Skills:
6. Proven track record managing engineering teams in safety-critical environments
7. In-depth knowledge of pipeline maintenance systems and regulatory compliance
8. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
9. Please be aware this role requires you to participate in a standby rota.
10. Valid Full UK drivers licence.
Essential Qualifications:
11. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
12. IOSH Managing Safely certification
Preferred Qualifications:
13. Progress towards a professional engineering qualification
