We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team of Geomatics Analysts. You will work as part of a small, highly specialized team processing survey data to support the delivery of our National Elevation Data Programmes. You will use specialist software and GIS to process and quality‑control data from our state‑of‑the‑art Remote Sensing survey instrumentation, including an Airborne LIDAR Terrain Mapper.
About the Role
* You will process and quality‑control survey data, creating high‑resolution Digital Elevation Models from Airborne LIDAR.
* You will use ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap, working with large and complex mapping datasets.
* You will support monitoring programmes across the Environment Agency, collaborating with National & Area teams.
* As a new starter you will have an incident‑response role in addition to your day job; duties will be chosen to develop your skills and broaden your experience.
Experience and Skills
* Relevant degree in Geography, GIS, Environment, or equivalent scientific discipline.
* Practical experience with ESRI ArcGIS tools and large mapping datasets, preferably Airborne LIDAR.
* Experience processing LIDAR datasets and deriving Digital Elevation Models.
* Knowledge of Remote Sensing techniques, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and good attention to detail.
* Good organisational skills, highly motivated, professional attitude, and the ability to communicate effectively and work unsupervised when necessary.
Working Patterns and Location
* Full‑time position; other working patterns will be considered.
* Base anywhere within working proximity to an EA office; expected to travel to the Bath hub when required.
* Interviews take place in person at our Bath office, with a technical GIS assessment.
Contract Length 17 months – up to March 2027.
