The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) brings together over 19,000 staff and a range of hospital and community healthcare services across Salford Royal and Pennine Acute NHS Trusts under a group arrangement. The NCA covers the local communities of Salford, Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and North Manchester.
The NCA has developed an ambitious strategy to develop and grow our Charitable income over the next five years. This will involve the establishment and development of a new charity fundraising team (5.8 WTE initially), to be led by the Fundraising Manager. The team will consist of fundraising, communications and marketing, and administrative staff. The charity’s purpose is to raise funds to enhance and improve the experience of patients and service users across our services. This will include general unrestricted fundraising as well as targeted campaigns focussing on our specialist services.
This is an exciting time as we look to totally transform our charity’s visibility, including through new dedicated charity branding. The Fundraising Manager will play a crucial role, responsible for managing and implementing the NCA’s fundraising strategy and overseeing all of our fundraising activity. The role involves both line management and hands‑on delivery across Individual Giving, Community Fundraising, Corporate and Trust sources.
Main duties of the job
* Management of fundraising team (including communications and administration), supporting and nurturing each of them in their roles
* Internal liaison and reporting to Charitable Funds Committee, Committee in Common, Care Organisation Management teams, and Charity Advisory Panel.
* Building and nurturing relationships with major donors
* Building and nurturing relationships with health and care related charities in each locality
* Maintaining relationships with trust to maximise income generation, including overseeing the submission of timely progress reports and hosting visits as appropriate
* Leading annual fundraising operational planning process to produce effective approach to deliver against the fundraising strategy
* Developing and delivering fundraising campaigns.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent level of experience
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Recognised fundraising qualification
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Experience of managing a fundraising team
* Demonstrable experience of a broad range of fundraising techniques
* Thorough knowledge of charity law and fundraising practice, including tax effective giving and GDPR
* Substantial experience of successful fundraising at a senior level
* Ability to think and plan strategically
