Advert Lifelong Learning Officer (16/493) (Fixed Term) Dumfries and Galloway £13,886.13 - £14,583.25 You will be required to work 16.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year. An exciting position has arisen for a Lifelong Learning Assistant who will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Lifelong Learning Service in Upper Nithsdale. This role will include evening and weekend work and requires a full UK driving license. You will have experience of working in Adult Learning, Family Learning, Digital Learning, Community Learning & Development and of co-ordinating learning opportunities in line with national and local priorities to help address local identified need. You will be passionate about Lifelong Learning and have experience of delivering learning, developing learning plans, working in partnership with community groups and organisations and self-evaluation activities. You will ideally have knowledge and experience of overseeing opportunities for learning to be accredited, coordinating relevant administration tasks, and fulfilling role of Assessor and Verifier as required across a range of SQA and other courses. To be considered for this post you should: be educated to HNC/SVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or demonstrate equivalent experience. demonstrate evidence of relevant continuing professional development. possess education and training which enables the delivery of accredited and non & accredited lifelong learning opportunities. be a full or associate membership of CLD Standards Council or willing to become a member. be a qualified Assessor and/or Verifier or willing to complete necessary training. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident. This post is fixed term for up 12 months. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
