Salary: £33,594 - £50,589

Hours: 35 per week

Woodlands School opened in 2008 and is a special school in Currie, Edinburgh providing personalised education for secondary aged learners with a wide range of learning disabilities. The school is set in an attractive campus in a wooded area called Roley’s Wood, which we share with the Currie Community High School. To find out more about the Woodlands please visit.


Overview

We are looking for a Secondary Home Economics Teacher who can help our learners develop practical cookery, organisational and life skills. Lessons also give learners an awareness of hygiene and safety in the kitchen and the benefits of healthy eating.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.


Responsibilities

* Deliver practical Home Economics lessons focused on cookery, organisational and life skills.
* Promote hygiene and safety in the kitchen and educate learners about healthy eating.


Requirements / Qualifications

* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
* The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
* You will be required to provide these checks. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of these pre-employment checks.
