Your new role
Here at Hitachi Rail, we are looking for a Industrialisation Engineer to join our team. As the Industrialisation Engineer, you will have a main focus on electrical and software components and will be responsible for the development of a fully engineered task for all approved engineering changes within your scope of work.
The Industrialisation Engineer with work in collaboration with design, service and supply chain teams to develop the processes, methods, working instructions and bill of materials for all approved engineering changes. These actions will then be for our service teams to implement. Due to the nature of the work involved we ask that the successful candidate be willing to regularly travel to our other UK sites and depots.

About you…
Applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the essential requirements listed below:
Essential Requirements
10. A background in production engineering in an industrialisation environment (Desirable)
11. Good knowledge of the (rail) product and its component assemblies
12. Good electrical experience
13. Strong knowledge of vehicle software and software tools
14. Good knowledge of rail vehicle construction processes and their main systems
15. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
16. An understanding of health and safety requirements of an industrial environment
Qualifications
17. Engineering degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
Role responsibilities include…
18. Connect with Design Authorities and other relevant functions involved in the process of change
19. Manage the process of developing a change from approved solution through to “ready for implementation” as a portfolio, supporting business priorities, constraints and opportunities
20. Production engineer each approved change as part of the "ready for implementation" activity to include task instructions, bill of materials, bill of tools, work content, mix and methods appropriate for the service implementation team
21. Support the Laptop Diagnostic Engineer in testing new software releases and managing diagnostic SW library and policies
22. To comply with and implement Hitachi Rail’s Health and Safety policy.
23. To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required
